So, why should I travel to Europe?
The culture, the people, the scenery, the nightlife... there's nothing like heading away from the beach and exploring the real Europe.

So, you've sold Europe to me. Where should I visit?
We've come up with our top 5 places to visit in Europe - we could easily name five hundred though..

  • Iceland. OK - so it's not a common backpacker travel destination and isn't the cheapest destination - but it is worth investing just that little bit more to see the stunning scenery of Iceland. There are a number of sprawling National Parks, the vast Gullfoss waterfalls and some wonderful geothermal hotspots and spas.

  • Luxembourg. An undervisited country, Luxembourg should feature in the European backpackers travel itinerary. Here you can find the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral and the wonderous Château de Bourscheid.

  • Andorra. If you're a wintersports enthusiast on a budget, then Andorra could be the place for you. Skiing can be considerably cheaper here compared to nearby Spain and France and its also significantly quieter.

  • Ireland. Is Ireland really a backpacker travel destination, we hear you say? It's rich history, unspoiled landscapes and the relatively small size of the country mean that backpacker travel around Ireland is not only quick but easy

  • Georgia. Georgia is a relatively unspoiled country, offering spectacular views and a capital city, Tbilisi, with over 1,500 years of history. Travel is cheap and most importantly, Georgians are fantastically hospitable towards travellers.
